Some Approximation Properties in Musielak-Orlicz-Sobolev Spaces

Some approximation theorems involving the modular convergence, which improve known density results of interest in the existence theory for strongly nonlinear boundary value problems are presented.

Nonsquareness in Musielak-Orlicz-Bochner Function Spaces

and Applied Analysis 3 Proposition 1.2. Function σ t is μ-measurable. Proof. Pick a dense set {ri}i 1 in 0,∞ and set Bk { t ∈ T : M ( t, 1 2 rk ) 1 2 M t, rk } , qk t rkχBk t k ∈ N . 1.7 It is easy to see that for all k ∈ N, σ t ≥ qk t μ-a.e on T . Hence, supk≥1qk t ≤ σ t . For μ-a.e t ∈ T , arbitrarily choose ε ∈ 0, σ t . Then, there exists rk ∈ σ t − ε, σ t such that M t, 1/2 rk 1/2 M t, rk ,...

On Musielak-orlicz Spaces Isometric to L 2 or L ∞

It is proved that a Musielak-Orlicz space LΦ of real valued functions which is isometric to a Hilbert space coincides with L2 up to a weight, that is Φ(u,t)= c(t)u2. Moreover it is shown that any surjective isometry between LΦ and L∞ is a weighted composition operator and a criterion for LΦ to be isometric to L∞ is presented. Isometries in complex function spaces have been studied successfully ...

One-complemented subspaces of Musielak-Orlicz sequence spaces

The aim of this paper is to characterize one-complemented subspaces of finite codimension in the Musielak–Orlicz sequence space l . We generalize the well-known fact (Ann. Mat. Pura Appl. 152 (1988) 53; Period. Math. Hungar. 22 (1991) 161; Classical Banach Spaces I, Springer, Berlin, 1977) that a subspace of finite codimension in lp, 1 p<∞, is one-complemented if and only if it can be expressed...
